Summarizing April

Hmmm... April is soon to end. What are the events that happened? It's been weeks since I last blogged about something. I can see that the last was April 14 where I got struck by a certain article concerning Filipinos and how our race has been discriminated by some people from the other side of the world.

Let's see. If I'm not mistaken, it's either April 15 or 16 when I started pulling my feet outside my own comfort zone to walk along the famous Ayala, Makati City to look for some job opportunities. Fortunately I was with a friend who had been an ex-employee of the same company where I am applying to. So he accompanied me since he was also on a mission to get his job back. Another fortunate event that happen, the most unexpected of all is that I passed every round of the interviews and tests of that company. And on the same day, I signed a contract with them.

The Monday that came in after I was hired, I was sent to the site where I was supposed to have my orientation. I met a boyish girl there. She's got looks and I think she's cute enough but I didn't plan on taking her number anymore. One day of acquaintance is good enough. I'm glad to know I could still hook up with -- and make new friends.

After the orientation, I submitted my pre-employment requirements and I was prompted to wait for their call regarding the schedule of when our training would start. The training was supposed to start last April 20, Tuesday. But I received a text message coming from the HR saying that training was postponed until further notice. Sad thing is that up til now I receive no call from them. When will i ever get to start? o.O

Then April 22 passed by, not much of being bitter, this was the mark of the 5th month since I last broke up with her. Now it's the 27th so it's supposed to be our 2 years and 7 months, if !!! we hadn't had that break-up. Oh well. It's been decided upon already. I don't want to bring the past back anymore. I want to move forward and have some life.

Last Saturday April 24, I was at my friend's son's christening day. Congratulations again, it's been so long since we've seen each other. The baby was really cute. I was late at the event, actually. Although I arrived at the ceremony, still I was a little bit too late. After the baptism, we went to the reception area. Man! the food was great. I got really full. After the reception, we went to their house to have a few more chats with each other, a couple of drinks, and a couple of jamming sessions. That's the time they invited me to join them on another wedding event. We're going to perform on Friday at a place called (I actually forgot where it is).

Ohhh I totally fogot. back then last April 10, I was a wedding singer at my friends' wedding. It was really an honor. If they only knew what we've been through... LOL.

Oh anyway, I guess that summarizes my story for April 2010. The next important date I should mark should be MAY 10, 2010. It's the election day. I still don't even know whom to vote for. I don't have a list or what. That's it... Till the next blog comes in!

READ AND REALIZE HOW YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF YOUR RACE

I quoted a whole article that I read from a Facebook note. If you read it thoroughly, you'll realize how we should stand for our race. We are not just some sick Asian folk trying to climb up the ladder. We get to the top because we prove that we are worth being there. I didn't add up anymore comments to this message because in as short as what one of our folks has stated, my pride was already uplifted .
An insult to Filipinos

This is a hate letter coming from a radio talk show host Mr. Art Bell from Nevada . I don't consider myself as patriotic but please read my reply below in BOLD LETTERS and send this to as many of your
friends as possible until it reaches him.

Subject: HATE LETTER

This is a very disturbing open E-mail letter to all Filipinos around
the world; specially here in North America !, from a man who has the power
to reach million of people. (he's a radio talk host)

Please read on.......... ....

This is an open letter email by Art Bell, a radio talk show host in Nevada (more info in the email itself). Here is yet another person who has taken advantage of his power and priv ilege to use hateful words and racial stereotypes that breed further ignorance and intolerance in our society.

Art Bell is a talk radio host who has two shows that he broadcasts from his home in Nevada , that is rebroadcast by 400 stations across the country.

He's written 2 books... He lived in Okinawa , Japan for some years and had a radio program on the English station here. And, though it's hard to believe after reading the following letter from him, he actually has been to the Philippines (he's traveled fairly extensively around the world).

Check out his website listed at the end to get a who's spreading this hateful ignorance. And letter is so degrading, I think it's really important that everybody read this and not attack him, but respond to him in a civilized manner because otherwise his thoughts will be reaffirmed. Understand that not everyone has a viewpoint like we do, and that this is an opinion of someone who hopefully can be changed only by civil actions. - May Munoz

Filipinos... ..*make me puke* (Art Bell)

As we've all come to notice, in the past few decades, Filipinos have begun to infest the United States like some sort of disease. Their extensive involvement in the U.S. Armed Forces is proof of the trashy kind of qualities all Filipinos tend to exhibit on a regular basis.. You can see this clearly by studying the attitudes and cultural Icons of most Filipino Americans.

Origins of Pinoys/Pinays:

Are they really Asian? Well we've come to accept the fact the Filipinos come from a part of the world known as South East Asia . But the term ' Asia ' is used in the wrong way. You may notice that contemporary Filipino Americans try very hard to associ ate themselves with groups that we know as Asian. I cannot count the number of times I have seen a ' Third World ' Filipino try to connect themselves to the Chinese or Japanese people. There is no connection and here's why. The Philippines is a Third World country.. Nothing respectable has EVER been created by Filipino people during our entire human history. Young Filipino men in America have become obsessed with 'import racing'. They have an enormously perverted affection for Japanese cars. It's a common phenomenon. In their minds, these Filipinos somehow believe that they are Asian and that it somehow connects them to Japanese people and Japanese cars. They often take credit for the ingenuity of Japanese people and say how it's an 'Asian thing'. This term...'Asian thing' derived directly from African American slang 'blackthang' . 'It's a black thang.' 'It's an asian thang.' You can see the connection. It's even funnier that, in Japan , Filipinos are heavily discriminated against. The only filipinos that can live successfully in Japan are the filipino prostitutes. But that's the case for most Filipino people no matter where they live in the world. Now we've come down to this fact...and it is a fact.

Nothing in Filipino Culture can be seen as Asian. They have no architectural, artistic, or cultural influence which is in ANY way, asian. Thinking of the great countries in Asia such as Japan , Korea , and China there is no way you can possibly connect the Philippine Islands . This assault by filipino americans to connect themselves with the great peoples of North East Asia is foul and disgusting.. Try visiting a young filipino's web site too. You'll see something called the 'Asian IRC Ring'. It has to do with the chatrooms.. The most horrible thing about this is that these TRASHY people are trying to associate themselves with Asia again!! People in Asia don't act like, this at all. What we are seeing here is the natural Filipino in it's element with full access to technology and this is how they act! You will consistently see this behavior over and over again.

Another interesting thing is that these 'thirdworld' people also frequent RC chatrooms such as #chinese #japan and #asian. They must believe that they are some how related racially or culturally to North Asians. But it's completely WRONG! There might have been some distant contact With China and even less with Japan during World War II, but these people are actually more closely related to african americans and Mexican americans.

Do the parents of these young filipinos know what's going on? Would they accept this? I believe that they would and do. This is the natural 'Trash' element in filipinos manifesting itself. Nothing good has ever come from Philippines and I don't believe anything good ever will..

Recognizing your Roots (A Message to Filipinos)

To all filipino people:
Please recognize your ROOTS! You come from the Third World ! You country is a disgusting and filthy place. Most people there live in poverty! Your culture has MUCH MORE SPANISH influence than chinese, and absolutely no JAPANESE influence whatsoever. People in Japan and China , do not act like you. They do not constantly talk about sex and they have a MUCH HIGHER level of RESPECT for each other. There is NO WAY that you can connect yourself to Asia other than location. Your culture and technological advancement does not even come CLOSE to What Chinese, people have done in the past and what Japanese and Korean people are doing now! Everything you do is distinctly filipino. You cannot take credit for Japanese cars, video games, or Hentai! It's not an 'asian thing' it's, an 'American thing'. You have no concept of culture...no concept of asian ideas or asian philosophy! Can you demonstrate how you use Confucianism or Taoism in you everyday life?? You can't. And you will NEVER be able to. I understand that you are trying to create an identity for yourselves as young people... but it is NOT related to Asia .

Your Identity is Filipino.... That's all you are. Just Filipino. Think about what that means....

Sincerely,
Art

Filipino says:
I find this funny, he is right in some ways where we, as Filipinos dont actually have an 'Identity'. I think this is due to the confusion of our mixed races from Hispanic, Chinese, American and Malay origins. I see it in malls, imagine young generations wearing ski caps and ski goggles in a tropical country, baggy low rise pants like that of African Americans living in th e Bronx of New York, not to mention endless whitening products being sold at department stores and drug stores. But his ignorance also blinds him from the other truth. That while we may glorify Anime shows and Japanese Internet gaming, he is not aware that a nameless Filipino may be responsible for some technical aspects of some Japanese software. He is not aware of our contribution to the the society in general Technological advancements that may have aided post war navigations and landing on the moon. That the antibiotic Erythromycin was discovered by Dr.. Abelardo Aguilar from Iloilo creating the brand 'Ilosone'. Thomas Edison may have discovered the electric light bulb and the fluorescent lighting was thought up by Nikola Tesla. But the fluorescent lamp we use today was invented by Agapito Flores (a Cebuano named Benigno Flores of Bantayan Island , according to the Philippine Daily inquirer), a Filipino scientist.. Americans helped then-Philippine leader Ramon Magsaysay to develo p it for worldwide commerce.
That the personal physician of former U.S. Pres. Bill Clinton is Eleanor 'Connie' Concepcion Mariano, a Filipina doctor who was the youngest captain in the US Navy. A Filipino writer Jose Rizal could read and write at age 2, and grew up to speak more than 20 languages, including Latin, Greek, German, French and Chinese. Or that a Filipino genius was responsible for the near hiatus in the PENTAGON and White HOuse nearly infiltrating their closely guarded secrets with the 'ILOVEYOU' bug. Nuisance maybe, but still one heck of a 'beautiful mind'...not to be underestimated. The list goes on and on, but who cares right? Certainly not Mr. Art Bell...Boy, I'm not surprised.. Perhaps Art Bell does not know that although we consider ourselves ASIAN because we are strategically located in the Southeast asian region of which our nearest neighbors are Malays, ASIA does not mean only Chinese and Japanese race of people. Then maybe it is his connotation that 'Asia' meant only our economically successful, paler brothers and he considers Malays such as Thais, Malaysians, Indonesians, and ourselves as a ' Third World ' race. Then it is 'his' ignonimity that would make a civilized person of whatever race puke. Imagine literally connecting Chinese, Koreans and Japanese to the Philippine Islands which is archipelagos away from the countries he has mentioned. I also wonder where he got the impression that we aspire to be Japanese(??? ) Hispanics maybe but not the Japanese. But even Hispanics today do not mind sharing their 'surnames' to their Asian brothers who they have colonized for 3 centuries.

Another sad reality that although most Filipinos working overseas are domestic helpers and prostitutes, who does he think educates the toddlers of Hong Kong , Singapore , Taiwan and Tokyo ? Parents of these countries rarely have time spent with their children, leaving them to their Filipino nannies. And with regards to prostitution. Filipinos are not the only ones working as one. I HARDLY SEE FILIPINOS STARRING IN PORN MOVIES. THERE MIGHT BE A FEW FILIPINOS WE HAVEN'T SEEN , BUT MOST ARE FROM MR. ART BELL'S RACE.

He also mentioned that we have no concept of culture..no concept of asian ideas or asian philosophy. How can we demonstrate Confucianism or Taoism in a Christian nation? IS HE INFORMED THAT THE PHILIPPINES IS THE ONLY PREDOMINANTLY CHRISTIAN/CATHOLIC NATION IN ASIA ?! YOU HAVE TO USE COMMON SENSE IN A LOT OF THINGS SOMETIMES... .

We do not need to create an identity for ourselves. We are who we are. Our identity stems from the anonymity we live in this world. How we contribute silent ly towards the progress of the world and not just one country. Although the Filipino blood may be tainted with malice, corruption, poverty and prostitution, it is not a perfect race... But so are the others. Maybe Mr. Art Bell needs to think about this. WE MAY NOT BE PERFECT MR. BELL BUT AT LEAST WE STILL HAVE VALUES. FOR ONE THING WE DONT PUT OUR AGING PARENTS IN NURSING HOMES BECAUSE 'THEY'RE SIMPLY OLD AND WORTHLESS'. WE DONT HAVE AS MUCH NUMBERS OF SINGLE MOTHERS WHO GET PREGNANT IN THEIR VERY EARLY TEENS AND EVENTUALLY BECOME PARASITES OF THE GOVERNMENT FOR YEARS AND YEARS. YES...WE CAME TO YOUR COUNTRY TO WORK, TO EARN DECENT MONEY (HALF OF WHICH BY THE WAY GOES TO TAXES BECAUSE THERE'S SO MANY SOCIAL PARASITES FROM YOUR RACE).AND BY THE WAY, MOST EDUCATED PEOPLE THAT I WORK WITH DONT COME FROM YOUR RACE... THEY'RE ACTUALLY IMMIGRANTS TOO. AND THOSE EDUCATED ONES DO NOT ACT LIKE YOU DO, PERHAPS BECAUSE THEY'VE REALLY BEEN WELL EDUCATED..AFTER ALL THAT'S SAID... WHO IS THE IGNORANT ONCE AGAIN?! -

Cariño Brutal na si Anxiety

Actually i've been having some problems with my client, too. It pops a message that says:
Unexpected program error occurred!!! Ragnarok will be shutdown because of unexpected program error!!!... etc...
The truth is, I also don't know how to solve this shit. All I do is just ignore it by not closing it, but by setting it aside and continue on playing in the game. I've been actually waiting for GM's to post their message on the message board regarding this problem, but it seems that this is all they can say:
Before you ask 'Why your game isn't working' or anything similar to that take notice to the few following advices I do ever give you.

1. Make sure you have RO and RO Renewal Clients Upto Date. We no longer use Sakray, so to hell with that.
-> Don't be retarded, get the full installer for a higher possibility of a successful install -_-

2. Patch your clients in the following order.
Ragnarok.exe -> RORenewal.exe -> BlackoutRO Patcher.

3. Make sure to check your settings in the setup.exe located in your Blackout RO Directory
For Graphic Card Settings, and Sound etc.

4. Turn off any bullshit programs you think / know is illegal because our prevention program is detecting it assholes.

5. Run the game, and try logging in.

If you recieve any of the following errors..
-> "Failed to Connect" -> "Please install and/or patch the latest version of Ragnarok Renewal / Blackout" -> "Rejected from Server".

Turn your heads to this file http://j.mp/bRO-repair-dl
Download it, place it in your Blackout Folder, and Run it. Then press Repair.
[ If the repair tool happened to fail for you, try using the alternative method for getting the patch files required to play by following this thread : http://board.blackout-gaming.net/?showtopic=36830 ONLY TEMPORARY FIX ]

Try running the game again.

If all else fails you are THEN free to submit a ticket @ http://board.blackout-gaming.net/index.php...om=ticketsystemAnxiety | April 6th, 2010
- Quoted from BLACKOUT RO's message board

Frankly i haven't tried doing all of this. But repatching and all doesn't do the trick. Although I haven't tried uninstalling and reinstalling the whole thing back again like what i did before that did the trick. If you are a Blakcout RO player and you know how to solve this directly, please respond to this post.

Writing Reviews / Reading Reviews / Selling and Buying Reviews

Hey guys, I stumble upon this cool site where you can write reviews or read reviews. When you write reviews for them, you sell it to them and then they buy it from you with what its worth. Well... If you can reviews for free why not try writing reviews for a certain price. It's not that bad ain't it? After all you write for free. You've given off ideas, expressed how you feel about something, and yet you get credited for it. Try looking at this site now. It really pays you US Dollars. You only need to accumulate up to 50 Dollars before you could cash it out. And that's just a couple of reviews. What you just actually need to do is to voice out your opinion. Alright, here is the site: Review Stream

Just got home from the outing

So many things happen when you're not around... What's the use of asking when you already know the answer (LOL). Let's just close our eyes, cover our ears, and let's pretend that we neither see nor hear anything... - quoted from my plurk
I just got home from an outing with a couple of friends, my band mates and their girlfriends to be exact. Should I really call that outing? Well, for them that maybe outing because it was an out of town event, but for me, that was just nearly beside the barangay where my permanent address is. o.O but it was really a fun outing. I had fun, really, so much fun! ^_^ Thanks to you guys...

Before and after the swimming, we practiced some of our old compositions. It was really great because we managed to play it like we were pro, when in fact we just got back together from a very long time. And as far as I remember, the last time we played those songs, it was really not that good.

The Last Time - Eric Benet

One of the songs "I HAVE" to sing at my friends' wedding. A very sweet  and romantic song. A very lovely one. Heard it once, and already liked  it. I just hope I don't get my throat cracking at the time I hit the  high notes.

The Last Time - Eric Benet Lyrics

The first time I fell in love was long ago.
I didn't know how to give my love at all.
The next time I settled for what felt so close.
But without romance, you're never gonna fall.
After everything I've learned;
Now it's finally my turn.
This is the last time I'll fall... in love.

The first time we walked under that starry sky,
there was a moment when everything was clear.
I didn't need to ask or even wonder why, because each question is  answered when your near.
and I'm wise enough to know when a miracle unfolds, this is the last  time i'll fall in love.

Now don't hold back, just let me know.
Could i be moving much too fast or way too slow.
'Cause all of my life, I've waited for this day.
To find that once in a lifetime, this is it, I'll never be the same.
You'll never know what it's taken me to say these words.
And now that I've said them, they could never be enough.
As far as I can see, there's only you and only me.

This is the last time I'll fall in love.
Last time i'll fall in love.
The last time i'll fall... in love.

South Harbor: Costa Classica

Look at that big smile of mine, and everybody else smile... that's the sign that we are all glad to have each other side by side as a family.

Our family picture at the Costa Classica that docked last March 1, two thousand and ten at the South Harbor, Manila Bay.

From the left, that's my father, eldest brother, elder brother, me, and my lovely but "makulit" mother.

It's always only once in a blue moon whenever our whole family get together. This is just one of the blue moons I'm talking about.

My big brother, who is 2nd to the left on the picture, works in this gigantic cruise ship managed by the Magsaysay company. Well, my brother told us that it's not really that gigantic. The last ship he went on board was twice as big as this, and yet this ship is twice as big as Super Ferry already. It's quite tiring walking the ship up and down from end to end. I could hardly imagine how tiring it would be to walk end to end on the larger ship he just told us about.

We went inside for a tour. The first picture on the top left is taken inside the theater. This picture to the right is where the casino is. It's quite a great place to be specially when you love gambling. I like poker, and i was so astonished when i saw the poker table.

This is my mother and father, behind them are different card game tables. The one directly behind them is a poker table.

I haven't tried playing in a casino before. It's because I don't have the funds to do so, and also maybe no experience, too. But being here is quite amazing already. Thanks bro, for bringing us here.

---
I couldn't find the photo of this ship from the outside, where it shows how big and long this ship is.
--- I'll upload it later ---

This is the bar area (the picture to the left). How I wished my brother took the picture professionally to show us that it is a bar o.O

This other picture (picture to the right) is the on the opposite side of the bar. It's the stage where musicians perform. I'd love to be a part of that. ^_^

HOLY THURSDAY is also APRIL FOOL'S DAY

I haven't blog since March... Maybe now is the time to start a new blog... Happy April Fools Day people! ^_^

Oh! I really miss this outing. I miss these guys. These guys always used to hang out on really out of town trips. On April 3, 2010 I'm gonna have an overnight trip with some friends again. Not the same friends you see on the picture on the right. A different set of friends. I'm talking about my band mates. It's been so long since we got back together again. We decided to hang out on Saturday. Chill on the pool and stay overnight at my house at the province. Not much of a province, really. It's just Dasma. But yeah, we plan to do swimming in the morning until the afternoon, then get picked up by my father towards home. Probably we'll have some drink there while jamming and telling unforetold stories of our lives when we were all dealing with our own selves. Then most probably we will be practicing all day long the next day, and then eventually go back home to the city before nightfall.

Today, April Fools Day, I could have been with a friend right now because they planned to do a "Bisita Iglesia." At first I didn't know what it means. Shame on me, a pure Roman Catholic, doesn't know about that Filipino - Roman Catholic tradition. But anyway, when I found out what it was for, my friend decided to go alone since my other friend backed out. Maybe he'll just go with family instead of friends. I really feel sorry about that, somehow...

About "Bisita Iglesia", I was really alarmed I didn't know about it. Well to start with, Bisita Iglesia is a form of Filipino Tradition (I don't know if this is also done on some parts of the world). In Bisita Iglesia, you visit several churches (at least 7, that's what I learned from the internet) and pray the station of the cross as you move from one church to another.

This picture was taken at Mt. Maculot. me with my brothers and cousins
(From left to right: Me, Ate Janice, Kuya Abe, July)

It's like a penitence, like the one we used to do during Holy Week, climbing mountains with stations of the cross and pray on every station. As far as I recall, I've done this at Mount Maculot at Batangas and at a Mountain in Melgar, Oriental Mindoro, where they called it 333 Steps, if I am not mistaken.

It's sad I couldn't join the "Alay Lakad" with my friends at Antipolo anymore. I couldn't also join the Bisita Iglesia anymore because they decided to discontinue the plan. Now, I'm left with going at the house of my friend's friend, who's going to be married soon this April. I need to get the multiplex copy of the songs I'm supposed to sing on her wedding day. Yeah, she took me as her wedding singer, and I'm pretty sure I'm not that good anymore. Oh well, just for a friend's request, I would.

Well, that's all folks! Happy April Fools Day and a Blessed Holy Week..
